Grow Outside Class in the Hansen Leadership Program at Doane
Hansen Leadership Program
The Hansen Leadership Program, named after Zenon C.R. Hansen and founded in 1994, has encouraged our Tigers to grow into leaders beyond the classroom. Students in the Hansen Leadership Program develop their leadership skills by mentoring younger students, facilitating leadership workshops, planning campus events, and serving the community.
Directions Program
Earn one of 40 coveted spots as an incoming first-year student, an annual $1,000 scholarship, a suite-style housing assignment, a first-year mentor, and a reserved seat in leadership program classes.
Community service is a regular part of the Doane student experience. Students who serve develop relationships and address needs within the surrounding community, and have opportunities to travel the country while serving new communities.
A name synonymous with Doane and leadership, Hansen is Zenon C.R. Hansen (1909-1990). A lifelong learner and supporter of higher education, his Foundation has funded scholarships and leadership program endeavors at Doane.
Doane was one of the first college campuses in the nation to host a campus Relay for Life event. Since 1996, Doane has raised over $900,000 for cancer research. You’re invited to join us in the fight against cancer.
